- Tokyo Dawn Records are offering their excellent NOVA plug-in for free. On first glance it might not be obvious how deep the functionality of NOVA goes, but there is a lot packed in here. TDR call it a `parallel dynamic equaliser` and it performs a range of tasks; parametric equalisation, dynamic equalisation, frequency selective compression.

RE: TDR Nova VST3 crashes MB 6.2.70 Thanks - I followed your link but it looks like the free version is only available in VST2 or AAX (the VST3 version is showing as $35 ) I tried downloading it anyway but Windows gave me a big red warning saying 'This site is reported as being unsafe'!!!

Here's a really neat, free(!) EQ plugin that was shown to me by a visiting professor earlier this week. I haven't had much time to use it yet, but from the few minutes I've spent with it, I'm already excited.The TDR Nova is a four-band (well, six band, if you include the high pass and low pass filters) equalizer that also acts as a responsive compressor - each of the four middle bands can respond to an incoming signal and lower the gain of that band, based off of the compressor settings for that band. It also supports external sidechaining, which you can activate by stitching the INT SC dropdown to EXT SC. I think it's a pretty neat tool to have (and again, free!), and I hope to hear back from anyone who gives it a spin.
There's also a six-band (8 with filters) version called the Gentlemen's edition, which is their premium version. Depends on if you feel that €50 is worth the extra bands and additional sidechain control.
